I am unfortunately away at the time of compo, so that meant I ended up making a track the next day and sharing it in the sharing off channel of Discord, as I couldn’t submit for Compo. Oh well, onto the voting!

DarkShadow - The usual thick chords of DarkShadow returns! quite dark and intense this week, almost got a horror aesthetic going on. Kickdrum is punchy as always, but I expect that from you considering it’s DarkShadow lol. This one is very interesting, but maybe a bit uneven mix wise for me. the bass and chords are louder than the drums, but I do like the contrast between gabber and techno parts. It is a very cool piece with a lot of potential. Good job!  

Relax.D - Welcome fellow 2HTS person! Loving these cool chords and sidechain thing we have going on. That is one funky bassline for the vibe. Wasn’t expecting such a nice guitar tone, this is trippy, so many delay effects! The bends on the bass are also extremely cool! It’s quite a chaotic listen so I’d you’re not used to this genre it can be crazy but I really like it. It does have potential for smoothing, but I found way more to like than dislike so I’ll give you this one. It was enough for the third spot, amazing work!

obScene - Sweet strings, the king of cinematic returns! I thought it was gonna be a bit darker when I first played the track, but the piano comes in making it more positive and sweeter. I just love the dynamics in this, you know how to make some killer dynamics. The melodies are just so pretty here, and the string work is just beautiful. I really don’t know what else to say, this is just lovely. So lovely I chose it for the top spot, incredible work!

Meistr - Wow not expecting this style from you but I’m all for it. I think you’ve done it before, but it’s been a while so this was a surprise to me. Great drums and bass, even though it’s Eurobeat it sounds quite techno oriented. The chords are classic Eurobeat fashion, and the mix is really tight. Not too aggressive, has the right balance between elements. The vocals however whilst excellent could be blended a bit more, it’s a bit masked by the synth work, to where it is getting pushed down too hard. I don’t mind the distortion, especially in the overall mix, it’s the vocals that could be smoothed (Especially for killer singing) Good job!

Jxsl - Man I don’t have a lot to work with at only 26 seconds long lol. Had to play this a few times to process it, maybe 6 times haha. I find it hard to review when I get so little music, and that’s not a you thing, it’s an everybody thing. At least to say it was made in 20 minutes I’m glad you entered, and the results do sound very nice. Kind of similar to the last entry actually heh. Power bassline and electronic drums, except this is breakbeat style, not Eurobeat. Would love to see an expanded version of this. Good job!

Arcana - Short party this week, although I don’t think my 6 minutes would add much aside from length lol. Sweet trance chords, such an Arcana staple. I feel like I should be raving. Vocals sound great too, loving the effects on them. And it really blends well with the EDM like beat. The vocals at the end seem mildly strained (But this is more on the effects used not on the singing) Honestly this is actually pretty fire. It still has potential for more smoothing sure, but I couldn’t really find anything wrong here I think it’s actually good enough for me to give you this one. It was enough for me to give you 2nd spot, amazing work!
